Finally, the COVID-19 effected channel racing season got underway on June 13th with the British International Championship Club race from Falaise in northern France, a distance of 185 miles to our loft. We basketed 74 Birds for the race. They were liberated in a light south-east wind at 06.15 am….

18/03/2020: Began to darken all young birds as today is the spring equinox. All birds old and young being fed on 33% Versele Laga Superster Plus, 33% Beyers Barley and 33% Treetops Winter Mix from Albert James.

14/03/2020: Split race birds and weaned final youngsters from the race birds. All youngsters vaccinated on weaning. Racing will be delayed because of the COVID-19 international pandemic! A big shame but we must all do what is necessary to stay safe in the coming weeks.
